IPL - 2008-2009 - TVR Rating Analysis..

Have heard this from couple of colleagues and friends that IPL2-2009 is not doing so good and is also not attracting much crowd..

Reason being its happening out of India..

So thought of putting some analysis on IPL 2008-2009 TV Ratings as of now..

All the data is been sourced from TAM..

Check out the TVRs last year, I mean during first seven matches of IPL-2008:

and below are the ratings of first seven matches of IPL2-2009.

Thus if you’ll see, it clearly denotes that the charm of IPL is decreasing, during the IPL-2008 the rating of first match was 8.21% while for IPL-2009 it was 5.55% only..

Which clearly iterates that this season because of what so ever the reason is, the charm is not there..!!

Well I attribute this to the delays and delays of the IPL matches. The other reason is poor performance by the batsmen in the first few games of IPL. Unlike last year, the first few matches of IPL were really boring. The bowlers did a good job and the batsmen failed. Had there been big scores created and had there been big shots hit; it would have really pulled the crowd. Now, with the last few matches building the momentum with big scores I am sure IPL will be as interesting as it was last time!
